NEIGHBOURHOODSHIP

A home is more than what sits inside its walls.

It is the light that enters in the morning.
The street outside the door.
The walk to the park.
The view from the kitchen.
The people and places that become part of everyday life.

We call this Neighbourhoodship.

The relationship between a home and what surrounds it.

THE SCIENCE

We respond to spaces before we consciously understand why.

Light can affect our sense of time and energy.

Curves can feel easier to process than abrupt angles. Views of nature can reduce visual stress. Enclosure can create a sense of protection, while longer sightlines help us understand the space around us.

This is part of neuroarchitecture: the study of how the built environment can influence the way we feel, think and behave.

It shapes the way we look at homes.
